Love and Roots

Deep roots run through all things.

And just as the tree knows,
And the fruit senses, explicit in youthful awe,
And the bird assumes through gnarled experience,
That earthly succor grounds their heady origins,
Though the edges of their lives might be aimed at the clouds.

So I know also,
That our roots run together,
You and I.
